Memory Land
Went to Prarieville, pronounced Pruvulle, well that's not exactly the way to say it, but I'd have to speak it to you for you to know...I took Moma, today, some old time folks were having a sale, in a barn. Moma didn't really recognize Prarieville, like she used too. It has for ever been a special memory place for Moma, stirring deep love, this land she was born on... and she made all of us kids and Daddy love it too, with her stories, along with our own memories, mingling together. Daddy wasn't born there, but you would have thought so. He spent much time there fox hunting and in the old home place, turned hunting shack~ doghouse...swapping stories, playing dominoes, and of course, listening for the dogs' bark. Mabank and Prarieville breathe, to us, like only places that hold memories for one can do. Places having names for their bottom lands and pastures, some still called by the names of people long gone.
This is Prarieville for my moma, her memory land...
We pulled up some Black Eyed Susans, by the roots, the ground being soft from recent rains, she is hoping to replant.

Mother's Day Display
My teacup gardens are displayed on this sweet, two step white washed ladder; Suzette bought from "Girls Gone Junkin'", when they were at The P, one day. You can catch them at Canton. I stapled a "grow" light fashioned from a bed spring and small light, similar to the ones that go in a Christmas village, to the underneath (top). Really makes it SHINE OUT, lol.
Each little teacup has a tiny tea stained sign saying...
Tea Cup Garden...and the name of the particular flower or plant...
William and I drilled a little hole in the bottom of each cup for drainage...
Later on I'll change the sign to,
"Tea Cup Gardens ~ for the "little" gardener in us all..."
me on Mother's Day with my Five kids...1993

5 Sisters are at the Tea, Again...
Sandra, our friend, had an idea to create some art from burlap and wood. She cut the board, stretched the burlap, and made the wooden vase...Suzette, Sister #1, made the gorgeous flowers...and I broke some branches and did some arranging...
Here are the results of our efforts...
I love the little bit of bling to set it off...
We've sold some and added more and changed it up a bit, since this photo was taken...
lots of browns in my White Wednesday, but hoping it still qualifies!
At the Victorian Lady Tea Room it's...

5 Sisters are at the Tea!
Bed Spring Wreath ...Spring has Sprung!
I have had some exciting things going on around my junking world...First...Round Top, then meeting Ki , of Flea Market Style, this past Friday, to name a couple...
another is a little more close to home...
decoupaged eggs for Easter and a little birdy
Janice, friend and owner of the delectable Victorian Lady Tea Room on Market Street in Mabank, Texas, let us help her with the displaying of some new Spring items, she recently received. Since the New Year's Day fire, a couple of stores down, she'd had to give her place the once over for smoke damage, and hadn't had the chance to spiff up for Spring....
So...while we were at it, she graciously allowed us to bring in some of our creations to sell, as well! What fun for us! And right up the alley we had been thinking...
#5
fun stuff...
Spring flowers...
even some vintage...
The "5 Sisters" got a lot more to "Fling" at you...but figured you've had enough for now...more next time.
Come on to the Victorian Lady Tea Room and take a look for yourselves...
The Food is awesome!
