Funky Junk Farm Table

Joining Donna's Funky Junk Farm Table Party...

The feet are fashioned from the over 100 year old siding from our home...Josh joined them together, just like the feet he puts on his potting tables...

Josh made this table using an old door for the top...it will be on sale at the Mabank Arts Festival in May...
We have a lot of things in the Victorian Lady Tea Room, too...post soon with pics of new spring decor...

This is a display table he made for the Vicotrian Lady Tea Room in Mabank...

It is very long and at the front entrance..

This little red table was all to pieces and missing some pieces.  It was laying outside a junk place in Malakoff, Josh bought it from Coach for a buck and put it back together...

Just had the best time at Winnie and Talula's in Athens...Ki is so nice, just like I knew she would be!  Love being around all the creativity!!!

Come flea with me on a junkture...(junk adventure) to Athens, Texas where we will explore

Winnie and Talula’s, set in historic downtown Athens, it is touted as not being your mother’s antique mall, displaying an array of vendor's wares in a cohesive, non-booth way makes for an eye popping, shopping experience.  These cutting edge shop keepers, with their ingenious style, offer not only one of kind goods, but showcase them in ways that get the creative juices flowing.  Owned and operated by Gloria of Sweet Peas, well known for her exquisite collection of custom bedding… recently added The Sweet Pea Bistro, for our dining pleasure.  Winnie and Talula’s is truly a treat to the senses, offering unique shopping events throughout the year, with the next such event  being held On April 29th and 30th, when  Winnie and Talula will feature Editor in Chief of Junk Market Style Magazine, Ki Nassauer. Ki is the founder of Junk Revolution and Junk Bonanza, and author of junk decorating books, among many other accomplishments.  Ki, rhymes with "Hi", will be visiting with shoppers and bloggers, while handing out decorating tips, as she promotes her latest addition of Flea Market Style magazine, out now on newsstands.  Don't miss talented East Texan, Margo Arrick’s booth at Winnie and Talula's, aptly named,Ruff Stuff, supplies the “ruff” materials needed to create your own style.  Margo is also an Editor at Large for Flea Market Style magazine, in which one edition featured a five page spread on First Monday Trade Days.  If you live anywhere close, don't miss the chance to be around a slew of creative and sweet folks... those Talula Heads are bursting with sweet creativity!

Until our next “Junkture”... remember the words of Thomas Edison …

Long Goodbyes

One brother missing, I'm in the sunburst top...my going away party before me and my two babies went to Okinawa...
They tell us as young moms to just give a quick reassuring good bye and then leave...I've spoken the same words to anxious preschool moms dropping off their wee ones for preschool, but what I'm wondering is how do you say the long goodbyes to your mom...
Every day we say goodbye to another small piece of her memories, as each pound drops, so goes another thought...I love my Moma and she is still in there somewhere, because after all how can you just leave before you go~

 Daddy and Moma

Moma on her 80th  party...she is 85 now.

There were five sisters and two brothers in Moma's family growing up, same as she had with us...

Opal Irene, Gertie Louise, Fannie Odell, Peggy Sue, and Billie Maureen...(James Clinton and Bobby Kieth

Scientific Baby Shower

Been awhile since I posted some Baby Shower doings, but believe me, when you work at a school with young employees, they are always getting showered, so more fun for me....

The Sign-in Table...
test tubes, test tube holder, vintage science book

The science teacher and his wife were expecting their firstborn, a male child...So, since I'm always eYeing the cool laboratory glassware, what a perfect opportunity to let the wild scientist decorator experiment!

And experiment we did! Each Centerpiece was equipped with an experiment to find out WHAT bubble instrument would blow the MOST bubbles!
.......................................vintage Wonder Soap Bubbles................................

Bubble Head Experiment (bubble headed)
Used the school dicuts to make cute science decor, cut from scrapbook paper:
stars,flasks, atoms, and

microscopes...were a few
Wild Flowers and twigs in lab (vases)...   Centerpieces...

The baloons sort of looked like bubbles, to me, and the labware held the forks very well...

 The Food Table Centerpiece...
