Long Goodbyes

One brother missing, I'm in the sunburst top...my going away party before me and my two babies went to Okinawa...
They tell us as young moms to just give a quick reassuring good bye and then leave...I've spoken the same words to anxious preschool moms dropping off their wee ones for preschool, but what I'm wondering is how do you say the long goodbyes to your mom...
Every day we say goodbye to another small piece of her memories, as each pound drops, so goes another thought...I love my Moma and she is still in there somewhere, because after all how can you just leave before you go~

 Daddy and Moma

Moma on her 80th  party...she is 85 now.

There were five sisters and two brothers in Moma's family growing up, same as she had with us...

Opal Irene, Gertie Louise, Fannie Odell, Peggy Sue, and Billie Maureen...(James Clinton and Bobby Kieth
5 Sisters.... I love these crazy women                     Daughter # 5, Lezlee

  3. You touched my heart...I have goosebumps. so sweet...love that photo of the sisters. I am working on a wreath right now with photos of my grandmother and her four sisters and am all sentimental - so you post brought a little tear to my eye.

  4. What beautiful ladies you come from. Your moma is in there, sometimes it takes her longer to find her way out. It's those moments when she does that you hang onto with both hands and your heart.

  5. Oh Lezlee I LOVE the photo of your Mum & Dad in their younger years....What a FABULOUSLY GORGEOUS & HAPPY looking TEAM they made.... :o) !!

The pic of your Mum immediately below & the pic with her Sisters is PRICELESS....!!!!!

It is so VERY OBVIOUS in these moments captured in time she has had a FINE life & been LOVED well....

While her memories are fading, you will have yours for many years to come & I'm sure as you remember her fondly down the road, the smile I see on her lips will be reflected in yours....!

Take care my Friend & have a SAFE & HAPPY Easter....!!

    Cheers from Oz,

  6. Oh Lezlee, I'm so sorry. I loved the posts of your momas garden and how she knew that "junk" was cool long before the world. I have no profound words. You were indeed blessed to have this beautiful woman as your moma and I know she would want to comfort you now and keep holding your hand just as those mother's do dropping off their little ones to school. May this Holy Week and Easter bring you the hope that this good by is not forever.

  7. Lezlee~
I know you are grateful for every moment you are given...I don't know which is hardest the long goodbye or the short one.
I've had both. Neither is easy.
..we hope in what is unseen.

  9. What precious pictures of your aunts and parents! After seeing these, I'm pretty sure we are kin:-)
There are thoughts which are prayers. There are moments, when whatever the posture of the body, the soul is on its knees.
    Victor Hugo...
My soul is on it's knees for you and your family...please laugh lots.
Now, whatever happened to those hats your aunts are wearing? I love 'em!
