Window Dressing

I've mentioned before that some of  the newer parts of the house lack the molding, of the older parts, so I've tried to add  character.

In the master bath, we salvaged outside window trim. Now, for the kitchen I'm using a piece of old tin ceiling trim...

I just need a little valance to hide the blind.  We usually keep the blind pulled up, but like the option, when the sun is too bright. I had some spare clips around from the master bath, so just took them off the ring and someone actually gave me the tin trim which already had perfectly spaced out holes for the clip hook to thread through!  Pretty much a free deal, And...
Wa Laa!

A few days ago, my friend, Laurel posted her one of a kind ideas for window dressings, and boy was I glad. You may already know Laurel, as a contributor on Junkmarket Style, but she hasn't been blogging long, so go check her out and give her some bloggy love! Laurel really inspired me to get busy.  That's why I thought this would be a fitting inspiration post for:

Go on over and check it out, lots of inspiring posts, for sure!

Now, to find the perfect little snippet for a curtain. Don't you just love these little clips? Potentially anything can become an instant curtain...

Well, it's curtains for me~hee hee, Good Night!

Hello Lezlee...well aren't you the SWEETEST for mentioning me in your blog! I love, love, love both treatments you've shown here. Aren't you clever adding those little clips to those holes??? Are your kitchen walls blue? I have the cutest little dish towel with the word "Silver" embroidered on it...with blue flowers (I think:)) It wouldn't be big enough to cover the window but could be "layered" over something else. I'll send it to you if you're interested. Let me know :) Laurel

Oh that tin is making me swoon! Okay, and drool a little bit too. I also love the salvaged window trim and how you tied the curtain. Wow - you're so creative. I would so love to visit your house for a live tour!

I love the window treatments! I am not much for traditional coverings much to my sis's dismay(she is a window treatment specialist) I have been playing with clips too and love all the uses for them.

Loving the additions to the windows, especially the tin piece with the cute clips. Your ceiling molding is beautiful!!
I use vintage table clothes for curtains...that might fit nice with your tin header.

I will have to send you a picture of the girl's bathroom curtain. I used a lace card tablecloth. It wasn't quite long enough diagonally, so I *gasp* cut it in half, off set it and sewed it back together! It is perfect! So, I will try and send you one or do a post and link.
Just stopped by to say, Hi and see what you were up to...I am sewing tonight and mailing a cute ironing board cover to YOU KNOW WHO! smiles :) Kym
